Stressful Interruptions!
All of us on Flight 6673 who had a connecting flight to Memphis missed it! That connecting flight from Memphis to Charlotte had departed by the time the first leg of the flight touched down. There were some less than happy passengers that day, because of that interruption to their schedule, and I was one of them! It’s those events we can’t control that often get the best of us.
So I prayed one of the most spiritual prayers I knew. “Whatever!”
And I meant it. God knew all about this interruption to my schedule and MY LIFE, and He would do something for His Glory while I was inconvenienced – if I let Him.
Now I’m not an expert, but I am learning to do some things when life’s interruptions hit!
Deep breathe. Honestly, it helps. And actually those slow cleansing breaths help the oxygen circulate through your body (including your brain) and that helps you think more clearly!
Look for something good. In my “stranded on the way home” interruption, I had an extra day to rest and enjoy some down time.
Pray the WHATEVER prayer. “Lord I don’t understand why this is happening, but I know You do. So whatever you want to do with me right now, I’m willing for You to do. Help me to see Your Hand in this situation”.
Relax. It’s not the end of the world because your schedule was interrupted. Life will go on. And it might even be better because of your reaction to the things that didn’t go your way.
Keep positive. I’ve discovered that you can survive almost anything with a good sense of humor . . . well, almost!
My new prayer:
Please Lord, interrupt my schedule, my plans, my LIFE any time you see fit!
