DROWNING IN STRESS!
I know this sounds like a HOPELESS title, but I wanted to get your attention! And actually, the following story illustrates the whole – drowning in daily circumstances thing – quite accurately.
When I was a child I fell into water at the deep end of the pool. Not knowing how to swim, I panicked. With flailing arms of desperation I struggled to get air. Finally, realizing I was about to drown, I gave up the fight. . . and then, floated to the top!
That event has come to mind at times during my life when I’ve been frantically fighting for, well . . . whatever.
How ‘bout you? Do you find yourself FIGHTING to survive the never ending to-do list? Are there relationships in your life that are leaving you feeling helpless and out of control? Are you searching for answers that just don’t come, and growing tired and depleted with the STRESSES of life?!?
Well the good news is: The fight’s over! You don’t have to be frantic and panicky about ANY circumstance in life. You don’t have to live day in and day out as a person with no hope.
HOPE’S NAME IS JESUS!
I encourage you to take a few moments now to spend with your Heavenly Father. Ask Him to help you to stop flailing your arms of desperation, and then . . . quietly float to the top of your circumstance – with Him!
“The Lord will fight for you. You need only be still.”
