I’m Blessed When I’m Stressed!
Yep, that’s right.
Blessed are you when you are at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and His rule. (Matthew 5:3-The Message)
Those are the words of Jesus and my heart is so encouraged and filled with such love for Him as I let that truth sink in. When life’s stressful and I’m hurting and at the end of self, my Jesus is there to bless me!
During the past four weeks, I’ve encountered a succession of difficult stressors; car wrecked and totaled (me wrecked but NOT totaled), abnormalities on thyroid – possible cancer – surgery – recovery, and a variety of other day-in-day-out events that produced stress! It’s been fast, furious, and a winding down of ME, giving way to more room for God’s rule in my life.
Ya see, dear sister, here’s the point! When you get to the end; you know- the END of what you can do, what you can control, what you can make happen – then all your energy falls to God. And, that’s a wonderful thing! Sometimes, you have nothing left to give and the only energy you can muster up is the energy to not give up.
That NOT GIVING UP is a big step indeed! You just take that little inclination to hang on and know that the God who loves you so much that He gave His own life, is holding on firmly to YOU! (and just in case you thought “God helps those who help themselves” is in the Bible, you need to know that Benjamin Franklin offered that insight.)
It’s when you stop trying to make it all come together and stop trying to figure it all out, that you’re finally ready and positioned to give it over to the Lord. And when life blindsides you with those unexpected traumas of life here on planet earth, you can just move right in step with Jesus – relying on HIM to carry you through those obstacles ahead.
So, yes. If you’re at your very end today, rejoice! With Jesus Christ living in your heart, the VICTORY is yours! You can be absolutely and confidently sure that your God has a hold on you!
For God Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not, I will not, I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down or relax My hold on you! (Hebrews 13:5-Amplified Bible)
