Out Of Whack!

I don’t know what’s good about whack – but I know that being out of it is not good!

My friend Jennifer who just had her third baby, explained it this way, “My life is crazy. I don’t sleep and somebody needs me all the time. It’s so hard right now, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything!” Yep, Jennifer knows all about being out-of-whack – emotionally, mentally, and physically.

What I love about her though, is her outlook on the NOW time of her life. She recognizes and accepts that life is stressful, but then quickly grasps the positive side of it all. She’s thinking like Jesus!

“In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer – take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted! For I have overcome the world. I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.”
(John 16:33 Amplified)

So with the reality that life is stressful, what can we do to bring some peace and fulfillment to daily living? We must learn to manage!

Managing time, means accepting its passage and re-ordering our worlds in some satisfying manner.

Managing self, means being responsible about making some tough choices about how to live: spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.

Managing life, means resisting becoming bored and useless – when daily routines and drudgery get you down. God longs to explode His blessings in the ordinary daily-ness of your life. Turn to Him in the boring details of daily living and ask Him to rock your world – and He will!

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you.”

In whack, or out-of-whack – you can choose to be courageous, confident, certain, and undaunted. If Jesus lives in you, the stress of daily living has been conquered!
